Very often we can hear something like- if you read Tarot cards, you are talking to Evil, Tarot attracts bad energy etc, etc, etc… Which to be honest can be true depending on a reader and what person uses Tarot cards for. I have explored some of the most common myths below in a hope that this can offer some clarity and understanding to everyone who is curious, but is not quite sure if it it safe or right to allow Tarot in their life…
Tarot definitely isn’t one scary, mysterious tool shown in films. In fact, it’s an amazing affordable system that can help practically anyone find answers and clarity.
So there are some of the points raised most often when mentioning I do Tarot readings…
And the Most common one is...
Tarot is connected to Evil powers

Well here I would only say yes it can be, but it doesn’t have to be. Each Tarot reader or magic practitioner uses Tarot for different purposes and applying different techniques. Some readers connect to spirits - good or bad, kind or evil depends on a Tarot reader, some readers use their intuition and surrounding energies to read the message from the cards - that’s myself, some practitioners use Tarot for all kind of rituals - so again can be either positive or negative.
Only psychics and mediums can read Tarot

The truth is - anyone can read Tarot as long as they learn, understand and able to interpret the language of this amazing system. I believe reading Tarot is much easier if reader has psychic and other magic or spiritual abilities, however if you are able to just listen to your intuition, knowing and understanding the cards meaning, the skill of reading them will follow. Generally speaking people who have clairvoyance abilities for example, do not need Tarot cards to understand or see thing and situations the way these can unveil in future. Tarot is a tool that can be used by anyone to be able to get guidance when things are unclear.
Special rituals are required

Rituals can definitely help, but not in a way many people think. For example essential oils, aroma sticks, candles and crystals (most common attributes) are mainly used to help Tarot reader to relax and tune in their mind in a right direction. Saying that if Tarot reader uses connection to other powers like spirit guides, angel, fairies etc... in that case certain rituals might be required.
A modern professional Tarot reader does not even look like a witch or is always surrounded by magic tools. Tarot reader can look totally ordinary and present themselves not any different from anyone else.
Protection is absolutely necessary

First of all we need to establish the reason why we need a protection? What are we protecting ourselves from? If a Tarot reader connects with spirits or any other powers during the reading, then I would say YES they need to be protecting themselves and be 100% sure on what they are doing and doing it right, otherwise they can pick up all sorts of energies on themselves. Another point to make these type of Tarot readers need to be very very sure how to close this connection after reading is complete, to make sure no spirits were left disturbed and now left in another dimension to their own recourses.
From my practice I only use a candle and one or 2 crystals (only because I like them). I believe these help me to avoid picking up negative energy on myself during the reading. I trust it works for myself as I am not getting involved in any practices that have negative purpose or can do any harm to anyone or anything.
Tarot can predict future

Well… this is a very arguable subject and again leads us to the fact - who and what uses the Tarot cards for. As a usual practice Tarot cards are used to analyse past patterns, current situation and offer guidance to improve scenario in the future. Tarot can definitely show us the most possible outcome, however by knowing it, we are given an opportunity to change it if we don’t like it. Another way is follow the advice form the cards to achieve the result we want, providing it is possible with the other factors that are surrounding the situation.
There are good and bad cards

I don’t think there is such things as good and bad cards, all depend on a question and the position in a spread. Let’s say someone has been in a toxic relationship for a while and as an outcome we get The Tower…this card means all patterns, relationship will be destroyed. So in our example it is happened to be a good card, which means finally the querent will be able to come out of this relationship and move on. I am not saying it will be easy, but in a long run it will be appreciated.
Just to conclude what was said and what wasn’t the main thing is what we believe in. When Tarot cards are used to help people in difficult situations, surely it cannot harm anyone. I believe that Tarot reading gives an opportunity to make better choices and to get clarity on many situations.
